According to reports from Schneider Electric’s Innovation Summit in Copenhagen, the company’s CEO Olivier Blum has declared that electricity will lead the future global energy mix. Sources indicate this conviction stems from electrical energy being viewed as the most efficient form during the current energy transition era.

The report states that Blum emphasized this transition is actively occurring across homes, industries, and businesses worldwide. “The changes we’re witnessing, across both climate and technology, aren’t just challenges. They’re signals that our industry must evolve,” Blum stated during his presentation.

Convergence of Electrification, Automation and Digitalization

Analysts suggest this energy direction presents significant opportunities for companies like Schneider Electric to pursue what Blum described as the “electrify, automate, and digitalize” approach across every sector. The CEO reportedly emphasized that leading the convergence of these three elements can create a future where energy becomes not just available but intelligent.

“In leading the convergence of the three, i.e. electrification, automation, and digitalization, we can build a future where energy is not just available, but intelligent. And in the process, invent the technology that makes the energy transition possible,” Blum added, according to summit attendees.

Urgent Infrastructure Demands Amid Growing Power Needs

The report highlights the urgency behind this transformation, with global power needs expected to grow by 60% over the next 15 years. This surge reportedly intensifies pressure on existing infrastructure while renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind, are projected to triple their share by 2030.

Blum emphasized that these developments demand smarter, more resilient power grids rather than reactive approaches. “We cannot just react to these changes,” he stated. “We have to lead. Our goal is to help our partners, our customers, and our industry not just adapt, but thrive in this new era.”

Smart Building Initiatives Demonstrate Practical Applications

Sources indicate Schneider Electric is already implementing its vision through projects like the recently launched “Impact Building” program. The company‘s NEST office in Dubai, developed in collaboration with JLL, spans over 10,000 square meters and reportedly demonstrates state-of-the-art energy optimization.

The project expects to achieve a 37% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous local site and targets saving 572 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually. According to the report, this equivalent to the electricity consumed by approximately 77 homes each year.

Manish Kumar, Executive Vice President of Digital Energy at Schneider Electric, stated that the Impact Buildings Program will roll out across additional new sites and existing buildings through retrofits over the next 18 months. “We are creating the vision of what’s possible by transforming our own sites to show that buildings must evolve to meet tomorrow’s business needs,” Kumar explained.

Expanding Advisory Services for Complex Challenges

Separately, Schneider Electric announced the launch of SE Advisory Services, a new global consulting outfit designed to help organizations navigate energy and sustainability challenges. According to company statements, this service combines existing consulting capabilities to provide clients with greater clarity and path toward net zero objectives.

Frédéric Godemel, Executive Vice President of Energy Management, noted that “times of uncertainty require one thing above all, clarity and knowledge of what you can control.” The enhanced consulting offering reportedly aims to help clients move with greater speed and confidence while addressing pressing energy and sustainability issues.

Industry observers suggest these developments reflect the growing corporate emphasis on sustainable transformation as global energy demands continue to evolve. The company’s focus on intelligent energy management through digitalization and automation appears positioned to address the complex infrastructure challenges highlighted in the report.
